Go Leafs Go

Every year I fall into the same pattern.  Cheer for the Leafs.  Get excited for the Leafs.  Get disappointed by the Leafs.  Keep a faint hope alive by the Leafs only to have it washed away.  Have them show signs of life and pick up my spirits that maybe I'm wrong about the team.  Tonight was no different.
In typical Leafs fashion, they followed up their second 4 game winning streak of the season with 3 straight losses.  The last loss, yesterday night, was to the tune of 7-0.  You can imagine how excited I was to attend a game the very next night, against one of the better teams in the NHL.  Either way I got myself prepared and fell into the hype at the ACC (Where the Leafs play):
Anaheim scored first, I wasn't surprised.  But the Leafs fought back and tied it at 1.  Then Anaheim scored again to make it 2-1.  Here we go again.  But then the Leafs did the unexpected (or, if I follow my own train of logic from above, it was very much par for the course).  They scored the next 4 goals to win the game 5-2!  This is the signs of life that pick up my spirits about the team.
It's clear that I'm foolish to continue to love this team the way I do.  But so many Torontonians feel my pain.  What's unclear is when I will be rewarded for my undying faith in "the home team".  I'm sure hoping it's sooner rather than later.
