Today started and ended well. The middle wasn't so great.
I woke up in Ottawa, and had an amazing breakfast with Eric and Lana. They went out and bought fresh bagels and cream cheese, which we ate with Lox (smoked salmon). A delicious send off to my 4 hour drive home. I hopped in the car, and started my journey.
Once home the day became frustrating as "principessa" tried to replace the low beam headlight in Jackie's car. I got the wrong bulb, and rather than waiting until tomorrow for the store to re-open (as it was past 5pm) I snuck in to Canadian Tire, and ended up buying a two-pack of the most expensive bulbs, since it was all that was left.
Bulbs in my pocket, I got to work. I promptly mis-calculated how to properly get the lightbulb back into it's proper position, and dropped it somewhere in the car. Frustrated, I went inside to a calm and loving wife, who took care of me and fed me dinner. At some point in the evening, Blondie joined in the fun by having an accident in our kitchen (while untrained outside our home, she only ever has accidents in our guest room, this was the first in many months!). Frustrated, we went to the gym. When I got home, I called my neighbour (a real man, who knows his way around cars, tools, fixing things, everything I should know but don't) and he helped me try and find the missing bulb.... no luck.
With some help, I got the second bulb installed, and called it a night. Frustrated, tired, angry, I cleaned up and got in bed to write my blog. And while not the exact image you see below, this is essentially what is next to me.
As I shut down for the night, I think to myself I couldn't be happier in life.
